Two seperate and independent studies were published in February 2008 that provide even more evidence that the clotting drug Trasylol is extremely dangerous. The news comes amid a flurry of lawsuits filed by those who experienced severe side effects after being administered the drug during surgery. If you think you may have been injured, call an experienced attorney for Trasylol now.

The first study, which dealt with about 10,000 patients, studied those who had bypasses at Duke University Medical Center from 1996 through 2005.

This study concluded 6.4 percent of patients who were given Trasylol died within 30 days of the surgery, a rate nearly 2.5 times higher than patients who got other drugs (which were equally effective) or who received no treatment for bleeding.

The second study, financed by Bayer itself, looked at around 78,000 patients nationwide between 2003 and 2006.

Expert researchers found the risk of death was nearly 64 percent higher in the Trasylol group than in those taking comparison drugs.
